报告人简介:
· Dr. Paul Hughes (PhD Newcastle University, 2005)
As a post doctoral research associate in the school of civil engineering and geosciences at Newcastle University, Paul's research has focused on the impacts of climate change through the BIONICS project. He is also a coordinator of the Learning from Full Scale (LFFS) collaboration projectwhich sets out links between UKresearchers and other researchers around the world.
· Dr Joel Smethurst (PhD University of Southampton, 2004)
As a research fellow in the School of Civil Engineering and the Environment at Southampton University,Dr Smethurst’s research focus is in understanding the long term performance of geotechnical transportation infrastructure. His research has also included field monitoring and modeling of the effects of climate and vegetation on clay shrinkage and swelling, and in particular its impact on both failures and serviceability problems in clay embankments and cut slopes. Joel is a member of the editorial panel for Proceedings of the Institution of Civil Engineers: Geotechnical Engineering.
